MyAnna Buring promises Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2 will be epic

Check out this interview MyAnna did discussing Breaking Dawn Part 2. She also speaks a little on Rob, Kristen, and Taylor.

SWEDISH actress MyAnna Buring has had starring roles in The Descent, Lesbian Vampire Killers, Kill List and in both parts of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

The major gear change in her career happened late in 2011 when Kill List and the first part of Twilight Breaking Dawn came out within two months of each other.

MyAnna explains: “Being in a low-budget British film playing a dark and meaty part, and then in Twilight helped a lot. People realised I could play complex roles, and being attached to a franchise means people are slightly more willing to see you for things,” she says.

She’s now waiting for the final instalment of Twilight to hit cinemas.

Buring took on the role of vampire Tanya in Breaking Dawn Part 1, and she reappears in the franchise’s grand finale, Breaking Dawn Part 2.

“It’s going to be big,” she says. “Filming the final scenes was so epic. All the original characters and all the new vampires were there, it was just huge.

“One hundred actors on one set creates quite a special atmosphere, and you got a sense of what you were part of.”

Her relatively recent addition to the cast list means she’s avoided the worst excesses of hero worship experienced by Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner.

She says: “I’ve only had lovely experiences with fans but I think it must be crazy for the main group.

“They handle it with amazing grace, but if people actually experienced it I think they would think again about how cool it is because it can be really tough.”

So how did she come to be involved with the Twilight films? MyAnna reveals: “I was shooting Kill List and I got a call saying they just couldn’t find this character.

“So on the off chance that they might look at a tape, I sent one off, already being a fan of the Twilight series, particularly the books. I sent it off thinking ‘This is a big Hollywood franchise and I’m little old me and they’re looking for a beautiful vampire’.

“I must have done something really right because I got the job two weeks later. I’d never met [director] Bill [Condon], I’d never met author Stephenie [Meyer], I’d never met any of the producers until I stepped foot on set. So after being confirmed for the job, I spent the next few months worrying they were going to call back and tell me they’d changed their minds.”

She didn’t get such a call, so she went into preparation mode: “I went back to the books, first and foremost. I went back and re-read them all and focused on the sections where Tanya was mentioned, focused on the sections where the Denalis were mentioned, what the Denalis said, how Stephenie had written them.

“And there’s a lot of backstory. I did a bit of research on vampire folklore and then obviously when I was on set, I had Stephenie there, so if I had any questions I could go to the original creator. It was just how I’d prepare for any part.”

So was it any more daunting because of the feverish popularity for the franchise? “No, I just felt incredibly excited. I think with the hype around the films, it was never anything that I thought would affect me so much – that was always reserved for the main characters in the story. If there’s any hysterical hype, it’s for the older characters.

“But any attention I’ve had has been really lovely and really supportive and welcoming. The Twilight fans are a lot like a family so I would never have felt daunted.”

MyAnna can be seen in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 on November 16, 2012.
