Twilight fan fiction author E.L. James rumored to release fourth ‘Fifty Shades’ book

E.L. James’s book series Fifty Shades of Grey may have started out as a Twilight fan fiction, but it’s turned into a story all its own, dominating sales charts, sparking all kinds of new conversations, and even leading to an upcoming film adaptation. A new special edition publication dedicated to all things Fifty Shades, on news stands next week, reveals some exciting new scoop for fans of the trilogy. A fourth book is on its way!

While waiting to get E L James’ autograph, a rep for Vintage books (the company that published Fifty Shades of Grey) was speaking to those of us gathered in the autograph line. When he mentioned off-hand to me and a few of the other fans gathered there that there was “something exciting” about to happen in the Fifty Shades universe, we all leaned in to listen, which is when he announced that there would be a (shhhhhhhh!) FOURTH FIFTY SHADES NOVEL. I sprang into action, and asked as many questions as I could.

There’s a fourth one?

Yeah, there’s a fourth one coming.

What’s it about?

Yeah, she just threw it to her publisher. Her publisher was telling me about it. I was like “Really?” She was like, “Yeah!” I was like, “I don’t believe you. This woman’s a three-book phenomenon. It’s not a fourth book.” So she pulled it up on her computer, it was there. I’ve seen it.

And you’ve read it?

I’ve read the first five pages.

Want to get all the details? The magazine hits stands on August 28th, so keep your eyes out at your local newsstand/retailer!

UPDATE: Ms. James tweeted us today to say this rumor is unfortunately just that: a rumor! Sad day. Are you still holding out hope for a fourth book?

The first three have a lot of sales to go. But it makes sense that if the demand continues at this pace, a 4th one is coming. Why not? Unless the author is totally worn out….

A fourth book with Christian's take on everything? That would be fine with me. But a book about Christian cheating or even *thinking* about cheating on Ana, is a hard limit (no way, no go area) for me. It would just hurt the integrity of the story and I think quite a LOT of fans would be deeply disappointed.

Considering this article describes fifty as twilight than I feel compelled to not only request, but however, point out that readers of both have been disappointed once. Stephenie Meyer started her ” Edward interpretation” and abruptly didn't finish, but however published on her own website her “reason”. As we all know E.L. James finished her novel the same way in book 3. As a person who doesn't mind hearing the same story twice. I would love to see an author fully develope both characters and not sacrifice the fans because their overwhelming success has clearly made them arrogant and “too good”

It should be about cg point of view or how they grow up a a family with their kids!!

Refering to the movie, why not use Gabriel Macht of Suits for the role as Christian Grey. He is already playing the role of a powerful, super sexy control freak. Just add the sex and other jummy stuff and he will be the perfect CG!!!!
